About your tutor
I'm Yergali Mussabay and I'm thrilled to welcome you to GuitarTutor.nlI've been teaching guitar for over 7 years, working with students of different ages and experience levels. My lessons are tailored to each student's individual interests, goals, and learning style.I hold a BA in Jazz Guitar from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and am currently completing my MA in Music in Society.I teach a wide variety of musical styles, including jazz, pop, rock, blues, funk, and improvisation. Whether you are just starting to learn guitar, want to play your favourite songs, develop your technique, understand music theory, or become more confident with improvisation, I can adapt the lessons to suit your goals.Alongside teaching, I am an active performing musician. I play in the quintet For Want of Reclamé (FWOR) and also work as a session musician. I have performed at venues including Bimhuis, one of Amsterdam's leading venues for jazz and improvised music.I believe that learning music should be both motivating and enjoyable. In our lessons, we develop practical skills while also exploring creativity, musical expression, and the joy of playing.Once a year, we host a concert where each student has the opportunity to perform one or more pieces for their peers. This event is a wonderful chance to build confidence, inspire motivation, welcome family and friends, and create lasting memories filled with beautiful music.I am thrilled to embark on this musical adventure together. Whether you're a beginner or an advanced student, I am here to help you achieve your musical dreams!
